Love You: Unleash your potential

Are you your biggest barrier?

As a mum, wife, doctor and yogi, wellness enthusiast and medical educator, I wear many hats. Even during the most challenging days—often characterised by an overwhelming demand for my attention and a limited number of hours—I find purpose in my life. I feel fortunate to have a career that I genuinely enjoy most days.

I recognise that not everyone has the privilege of working in a role that brings them fulfilment or where they feel appreciated. Having a positive work environment is indeed a luxury.
What is your dream job or role? What is stopping you from getting there? What baby steps need to be made to get there?

Fear can hold us back from reaching our full potential. In yoga the postures do not come without practice and much failure. I have to fall down loads to stand up strong, physically and mentally.

Three years ago I would never have imagined that I would be teaching yoga, nor writing blogs or doing my core accreditation in lifestyle medicine.

Often people ask me where do I find the time?

The reality is that we all have a finite amount of time. It’s up to us to make choices about how we utilise that time. I don’t expect things to happen overnight. I also expect to fail , make mistakes and learn but this does not detract from my courage. Think also who are your support structure? Who will have your back for the ups and downs. Be aware that some may not wish you well.

Remember that setbacks are often temporary—think of them like a three-day news cycle. If something goes awry, it will soon be forgotten as people move on to the next headline.

So Love You: Find Your Courage & Dream Big! Love what you do and do what you love.
