As 2025 draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on how much I have embraced the idea of accepting the ebb and flow of life- especially when it comes to our wellbeing. Life will always be beautifully messy and complicated, and in times of need, we naturally focus more on one wellbeing area than on others. 🌊
But here’s the question: when the stress eases or that area of focus is complete – then what? 🤔
Over Christmas, I’ve had the chance to relax and watch some movies with my family. The makeover or reinvention stories are always a hit. There’s something about the idea of a fresh start that resonates deeply with us. ✨
Since September, I’ve been laser-focused on my studies. I needed to complete this work so I could move on to the next chapter. There was no way around it -only through. So, I hunkered down and stripped everything back to the bare minimum, prioritising the mental satisfaction of finishing the project. It took four months (though the results will not be out until February). 📚
Now, during this Christmas break, I have finally had a chance to rest – and I feel the urge to shake things up. I realised I want to start over. 🔄
At first, I thought this desire was completely against the ebb-and-flow philosophy I’ve been embracing. But it’s not. In fact, celebrating the ebb and flow of life means celebrating the surges too – and a start-over surge is just that. It’s part of the flow. 🌟
My mum is always great at encouraging us to dust ourselves down, pick ourselves up, and start over. That mantra has carried me through so much, and I’m so grateful for it. 🙌
So last night, before bed, I gave myself full permission to start over today.
Game plan? Do what works and feels good. 🎉
So Love You: When was the last time you gave yourself permission to start over – and what would your next surge look like? 🤗
